The Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM) has adopted a new format of registration number containing 12-digit characters for company, business and Limited Liability Partnership beginning 11 October 2019. (FAQ – 12 Digit (English).pdf)
The existing company number is still maintained and can be used until further notice.
The new number is used in the following manner:
ABC Sdn. Bhd. Registration No: 201901000003 (112233-X)
The new format of the registration number (e.g. 201901000003) has its unique coding:
- 2019 – year of registration
- 01 – type of business entity
- 000003 – running number
