The government has issued an order for the restriction of movements pursuant to the Prevention and Control of Disease Act 1988 (PCDA). ASQ is not included under the “essential services” category and therefore we are required by law to close our offices with effect from 18 to 31 March 2020. During this restriction period, no ASQ partners or staff will be allowed to access the office.
Therefore all ASQ partners and staff will be strictly required to Work from Home (“WFH”) from 18 to 31 March 2020. In this instance, we will be using all on-line technology tools to continue with all our client servicing obligations. Our Firm’s essential back-room services will continue to operate although they too will be subjected to the WFH arrangements. This is to ensure that our front line teams will be able to communicate with all our clients via e-mails, telephone or tele-conferencing so that our on-going work will not be totally disrupted while we are WFH.
We understand that your company is likely to be affected by this ruling as well and with such WFH arrangements in place, there is a significant likelihood that deliverables deadlines, if any, will be affected. You should consider if there is a need to contact the relevant authorities for purposes of extensions of submission and or reporting deadline.
There are indeed some challenges during the restriction period but we believe that by working together, we should be able to continue with our work as much as possible.
